Mani Pavuluri, MD is Private Psychiatrist with servitude as her mission for patients across all ages at the Brain and Wellness Institute. She was inducted as the Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, Distinguished Fellow at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Fellow of Royal Australian and NZ College of Psychiatrists.
Dr. Pavuluri served as Tenured Full Professor, Founding Director of the Pediatric Mood Disorders Program and was Endowed Berger-Colbeth Term Chair in Child Psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Pavuluri completed her psychiatric training in NZ, Australia and USA, board certified in both General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is named as the Best Doctor, Top Doctor and Top Psychiatrist by her peers and consumers in USA for many years. She received the prestigious National prizes such as Klerman award for the best scientific discovery, AACAP Klingenstein prize for the best paper on mood disorders, and the University Scholar of the Year Award from the University of Illinois at Large. She won the Jay Hirsch Excellence in Teaching Award from UIC Child Psychiatry Fellows. Embracing diversity, she received the AACAP/NIDA Jeanne Spurlock Award for mentoring minority medical students consecutively for 17 years. She served on editorial boards of international scientific journals. She has mentored many clinical and research faculty and their programs across the world and consults patients from 30+ states in USA who come to her in Chicago.
Her scientific work is a trailblazer for how we understand brain circuitry function and medication effects on the brain function in mood disorders and ADHD through functional magnetic neuroimaging technology (fMRI). Her research was funded by federal and leading private foundations. Dr. Pavuluri’s work is foremost among the cohort of studies mapping the brain functional model underscoring the interface of thinking and feeling brain circuits. She authored several books including the Hand book of Psychopharmacology across Life span and What Works for Bipolar Kids: Help and Hope for Parents. Now, she integrates her deep knowledge to care for her patients 24/7 as her calling, alleviating human suffering and participating in making the world a better place.
